Welcome to MyWritingFellow. By accessing or using our service at mywritingfellow.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. The Service

MyWritingFellow provides an AI-powered writing companion service designed to support writers with craft, creative process, structure, and storytelling. The service is operated by MyWritingFellow and powered by the Anthropic Claude AI.

2. AI-Generated Content — Important Disclaimer

All responses provided by your Fellow are generated by artificial intelligence. By using this service, you acknowledge and agree that:

AI-generated responses are for creative writing support purposes only
Responses do not constitute professional editorial, publishing, legal, medical, psychological, or financial advice
AI responses may contain errors, inaccuracies, or suggestions that are not suitable for your specific work
You retain full responsibility for your own creative decisions and any content you produce
MyWritingFellow makes no guarantee as to the accuracy, quality, or fitness of any AI-generated response

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use MyWritingFellow only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

Use the service to generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or offensive
Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with the service's security features
Use the service to infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
Submit content that contains malware, viruses, or any harmful code
Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the service
Resell or redistribute access to the service without written permission

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you submit to MyWritingFellow, including manuscripts, drafts, and other creative materials. By submitting content, you grant MyWritingFellow a limited licence to process that content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

We do not claim ownership of your creative work. We do not use your submitted content to train AI models.

5. Intellectual Property

The MyWritingFellow name, logo, design, and service are the intellectual property of MyWritingFellow. Nothing in these Terms grants you a right to use our trademarks, trade names, or branding without prior written consent.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, MyWritingFellow shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim, or CAD $100, whichever is greater.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

8. Third-Party Services

MyWritingFellow uses the Anthropic Claude API to power AI responses. Your use of this service is also subject to Anthropic's terms of service and usage policies. We are not responsible for Anthropic's handling of data beyond what is described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the service.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, Canada.
